Hey guys! I hope you're all excited for Spring Break! I know I am :D
Remember, we have a tight schedule coming up.
On Monday, please bring in a completed first draft of you poetry paper and a copy of the poems so your peer review partner can them. This draft must also be submitted to Turnitin.com.
On Wednesday, the FINAL DRAFT of your short story paper is due. Don't forget to also submit your paper to Turnitin.com. We will review for the midterm exam on this day (yay, Jeopardy!)
On Friday, we will have the midterm exam. There will be a little bit of grammar, a little bit of short answer, and a lot of essay. You will all have a notecard cheat sheet like the last test, and you will get you essay prompts Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
Thank you all for participating in the SGIDs! You gave me some great ideas for ways to improve the class!
Have a great Spring Break and I will see you all in a little over a week :D
Welcome to CompStreet!
At the end of each class period you will be responsible for posting a response to your homework readings. You may write about any of the following:
*your opinion of the piece
*a specific quote within the text
*how this information changes your perceptions
*the author's motive in writing the piece
*a question you have about the piece
*the significance of the piece
An alternative you will have as the semester goes on will be to blog about different subjects, songs, videos, quotes, or pictures that I post. From time to time I will find thought-provoking items and I want to hear your opinion! Your responses to these items could easily be used to help you write one of the four major essays.
After sharing your thoughts, see what someone else has to say. Feel free to comment on their blog. The most interesting blogs will be featured on my "Write On!" list.
Enjoy and Happy Writing!
